New Coaches Join SDAHC

We’d like to welcome Canadian born Kris Virdo to head our youngest group for the upcoming season.  Kris comes to us with personal and professional hockey experience. As a youth he played AAA Hockey in his hometown of Ontario, Canada. Kris has coached youth ice and roller hockey throughout Ohio and South Carolina.  He’s excited to join our Club and looking forward to a great experience with our Squirts.

Another new addition to our coaching staff is Chris Trujillo, a California native, who will be coaching our Peewee B Team for the upcoming season.  Chris has played hockey throughout his youth in Northern California (Bay Area Buccaneers Bantam AAA and California Cougars Midget AAA) and recently played professional inline hockey in Italy. He turned his passion to teaching the game in 2003 while operating the Water City Serpents Hockey Club in Northern California, coaching multiple teams to 2 National Championships and the AAU Junior Olympics. Chris also spent time with his childhood club as Assistant Coach for the California Cougars Midget program.

Also joining us this year will be Brad Wheeler, all the way from New York, Brad will be taking over our Midget 16AA Team.  In the late 1990’s Brad played with the UHL Winston Salem Ice Hawks and was a member of the NJCAA National Championship Men’s Hockey team. Brad played D3 College hockey in Fredonia, NY as well as SUNY at Brockport in Brockport, NY.  Since then Brad has dedicated 6 years to the ice hockey youth community of New York, 4 of those years were spent at the Pittsford Central High School.  We’re thrilled to have Brad join our staff and look forward to another successful year of Tier II hockey.
